  • What is deckle edge?
Deckle Edge Paper is, in some ways, a relic of a bygone era, a sign on books and journals of a time before machine cutting and mechanized printing. It, essentially, refers to paper that has been cut imperfectly, creating feathery edges on the paper. Through the traditional method of papermaking, when the pulp escapes through the tiny space between the mould and the deckle, it creates an imperfect edge that looks feathery or uneven sometimes. In my studio, I only work with deckle edge handmade paper and I do not use any cutting machines.
  • How many seeds are embedded in each card?
The exact number of seeds per card varies and isn’t counted, but on average, each card contains approximately 5-15 seeds.
  • What seeds do you use?
We infuse our seed cards with a variety of non-GMO organic seeds that include Basil, Carrots, Marigold and Chamomile. Our list of seeds is ever-growing and we try to introduce new seeds with every collection.
  • What dyes are used in studio?
My plantable paper stands out due to the use of natural dyes sourced from local suppliers in India, including sappanwood, organic turmeric, madder root and indigo.
  • Can I customise the size of my cards?
Custom sizes are available for an additional charge which will be calculated based on quantity required.
  • What's your creation timeline?
The turnaround time for order quantities of 100-200 cards is typically 1-2 weeks, while larger orders of 300 cards or more may require 2-4 weeks for processing and delivery.
  • How are these cards printed?
Since our seed cards are deckle edge handmade cards, they do not undergo digital printing. Each card is printed by hand in single colors through the traditional method of block printing. The price remains separate and is calculated as per the print details. For handmade paper, we also offer foil print and screen printing.
