Hello, I'm Aditi
I’m a Paper Alchemist based in Hyderabad, India, specializing in handcrafted paper made from recycled materials, natural dyes, and non-GMO seeds harvested from our organic farm. Using age-old techniques, I transform discarded paper into sustainable, plantable creations—where every sheet carries the potential for new life.
My Story
As the only paper alchemist in India working with recycled paper and natural dyes, my work is rooted in sustainability, craftsmanship, and a deep respect for nature. I transform discarded paper into plantable seed paper, using organic dyes to honor Mother Earth. Every sheet I create carries the potential for new life, blending creativity with eco-consciousness in a way that is both meaningful and regenerative.

My papermaking journey began in 2021, when I fell in love with paper as both a medium and a canvas. Over the years, I have learned invaluable lessons in patience, creativity, and consistency, shaping me into the artist I am today. Growing up in Hyderabad, I was always drawn to nature and art, which naturally led me to explore sustainable practices. Papermaking became the perfect fusion of these passions—a space where traditional techniques and modern sustainability meet. My mission is to create art that not only beautifies but also nurtures the environment, inspiring others to embrace mindful and sustainable alternatives.
Unlike many handmade paper factories that focus on tree-free paper, my studio takes a different approach. I work exclusively with recycled materials—newspapers, packaging waste, and post-consumer printed sheets—giving discarded paper a second life. Each sheet is crafted using the traditional mold and deckle technique, creating beautiful, deckle-edged handmade paper that carries the authenticity of centuries-old craftsmanship. My entire process follows a strict zero-waste philosophy, using rainwater, organic seeds from my farm and trusted growers, and natural dyes made from turmeric, coffee grounds, vegetable peels, sappanwood, and more. Instead of chemical-heavy screen or laser printing, I use traditional block printing techniques to ensure every product remains safe, sustainable, and truly one of a kind.

Beyond creating paper, my work is about shifting perspectives. In schools, students are taught to save paper due to deforestation, yet recycling is rarely part of the conversation. Handmade projects are discarded without thought, reinforcing a cycle of waste. Through workshops and collaborations, I strive to change this narrative by educating others on how to give paper a second life, making sustainability an accessible and creative practice.
Handmade paper is more than just a material—it’s a work of art, crafted with care and attention to detail. I take pride in using traditional papermaking techniques to create heirloom-quality, plantable seed cards for homegrown sustainable brands and artists alike. As an artist, I specialize in naturally dyed, deckle-edged handmade paper, making each piece truly unique. But remember, it’s not just a card—it’s a seed card, a symbol of regeneration and mindful creation.

Over the past two years, my work has contributed to the planting of over 15,000 seed cards, proving that sustainability and design can go hand in hand. My brand isn’t just about making paper—it’s about reimagining waste, preserving traditional craftsmanship, and creating art that gives back to the earth.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about my work. I hope my creations inspire you to see the beauty in sustainability and the endless possibilities of recycled materials.
